Japanese Worship Song – Shu Ga Sobani Iru Kara

This refrain would ring sweetly through the church as everyone lifted up their voices in worship every Sunday.  Even I, not understanding much Japanese, came to love and sing this song even on my own in my bedroom.

Shu wa mite wo nobashite Namida wo nugui

tsumazuki kara hikiagete kudasaru

inochi no ji e michibiku

Shu wa mite wo nobashite Namida wo nugui

tsumazuki kara hikiagete kudasaru

inochi no ji e michibiku

REFF:

hareruya Shu wo aishite

uta wa taezu kan sha sasage

kurushii toki Sae san bi wo suru

Shu ga soba ni irukara

The Lord will extend His hand and wipe your lashes

Pull you up from a stumbling block

Living in the land of life

The Lord will extend His hand and wipe your lashes

Pull you up from a stumbling block

Living in the land of life

REFF:

Love the Lord Hallelujah

Songs are constantly sung with gratitude

Even when I am in difficult times I will praise

Because the Lord is by our side

(My best attempt at translating the lyrics using Google Translate and common sense when that failed.)
